At DTCA, our mission is to champion a cooperative and solidarity economy, sustainable development, and the use of technology for social good. We strive to lead public debate, shape policy, and advocate for positive change through research, annual conferences, periodicals, and effective use of social media and webinars.
We sponsor research on the state of the cooperative economy, focusing on the impact of economic and social crises on cooperatives. We hold annual conferences to bring key actors together and produce periodicals on issues affecting various cooperative sectors.
We aim to facilitate the growth of cooperative enterprises, particularly in co-op banking, consumer co-ops, worker co-ops, housing co-ops, and agricultural co-ops. Our efforts include promoting the cooperative model, providing practical advice, support, and training to ensure the long-term success of cooperative enterprises.
As an agile membership-based organization, we focus on good governance, project management, and building relationships with partners, sponsors, and alliances. Our small in-house team, guided by our Managing Director, relies on a network of technical assistants to carry out our work effectively.
“You who have no work -- speak! You who have no schools -- speak! You who have to run like chickens from the vultures -- speak! We must free our selves! Men and women must share housework. Men and women must work together in the home and in the world... I opened the door for you -- you must go forward! ” - Dora Tamana
